I am currently experiencing a family emergency and it has hit the point to use whatever ability I have to gather resources to help.

My brother Jeremy Erickson who lives in Luxembourg, was doing seasonal work in Malaysia at my uncles cafe and was getting ready to help him open a steakhouse. He met a nice girl and was really happy to be in this tropical paradise.

Everything was going amazing until last week he somehow hit a water buffalo on a moped and went into a rocky ravine from what the people that found him said. He is currently in a small hospital in Alor Setar with minimal care and minimal medicine. He has a fractured skull, shattered arm, major eye damage and bone fragments in his brain. He is speaking words but in mumbles, he is extremely insane right now from the pain according to my mom.

Currently my brother has been given his own room because he is so loud.. Monday they are hoping they can do some reconstructive surgery and then fly him out to Langkawi after 2 weeks for advanced procedures. He is in really bad condition so I doubt he will be taken outside of Malaysia at the moment.

About my mom she hasn’t travelled in 13 years and she has Post-Polio syndrome which has many of the same effects as MS, so this whole thing is really wearing on her. Currently, she is by his bed acting as a nurse essentially and on the phone figuring everything out to make sure he makes it out of this situation. We do want to stress that so far people have been very nice and helpful on my mothers journey to Malaysia to help my brother. I believe he will recover, but to get to that actual point it will take real cash. In my 10 years in online communities I have never asked for donations until my mom begged me last night.

So far people have been very nice and helpful on my mothers journey to Malaysia.

I’m sorry to hear about your brother in Langkawi. But keep in mind that your family will be kept in prayers. I may not be able to help to donate but will see what i can do. I pray that something much more good will come up and that you will be able to transfer your brother to a better hospital in KL. I’ll be forwarding your message to everyone i know. Gob bless and have faith. Take care!

I am terribly sorry to hear this. This is an unfortunate tragedy similar to one I have experienced, and I know how desperate it can feel. I wish I could donate my tuition money, as you would benefit from it more than I will. Stay positive buddy, attitude will make all the difference, even in the worst of outcomes.

Keeping you, your brother and your mother in my thoughts. Godspeed.
